Care + Cleaning

Mulberry Silk requires gentle care due to the delicate nature of the fabric. Here are the steps to clean it properly:

Dusting:
Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth or a feather duster to gently remove dust from the surface of the silk lampshade. This should be done regularly to prevent dirt buildup.

Spot Cleaning: 
If there are specific spots or stains, create a mild cleaning solution by mixing a small amount of gentle silk detergent (or baby shampoo) with cold water.

Drying:
Let the lampshade air dry naturally in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, which can cause fading.

Never use bleach or strong chemicals on silk.

Use a fabric protector spray:
Choose a fabric protector specifically designed for delicate materials like silk. 

Before applying, test the spray on a small area to ensure it won't discolor or damage the silk.

Lightly spray the lampshade following the product instructions.

Regular Maintenance:

Frequently dust the lampshade using a soft, dry microfiber cloth, a feather duster, or a small handheld vacuum with a brush attachment. Regular light cleaning prevents the dust from settling deeply into the fiber. 

Consider placing the lamp away from open windows to avoid direct sunlight or vents where dust tends to accumulate.
